Hi, I’m Miss Katie, and I’ve been part of the Bluebird Montessori family for a while now. With over 8 years of experience specifically as an infant teacher, I currently lead the Infant 2 Classroom, where I’m dedicated to creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our little ones.
I have a deep-rooted passion for nurturing and guiding young children and am committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment where every child feels respected, valued, and inspired to grow. I have also received training in the Traditional Montessori method from our Director, Tiffany Basinger, which has enriched my ability to create a child-centered learning environment.
I’m trained in Safe Sleep, Pediatric and Adult CPR, AED, First Aid, and Positive Behavior Support. My background also includes training in Child Development, Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention, and several specialized courses like Art, Music and Movement, and Brain Development.
In the classroom, I incorporate sign language to help infants communicate, and occasionally, I play the flute to bring music into our daily routine. I believe that listening to rhythm, exploring books, and engaging in music and movement are key components of early childhood development.
